Ryan Lott
Ryan Lott Personal TrainerRyan is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA. He is also a certified Sports Performance Coach through USA Weightlifting. He has a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and a minor in Sports Management from Millikin University. While at Millikin Ryan also played football for the Big Blue and then interned as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning/Football coach during his final semester. He then earned his Masters of Science in Exercise Physiology from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Ryan was a Personal Trainer for 4 years at the Rec Center of SIU Carbondale. Jen Bright
Jen Bright Personal TrainerJen Bright teaches a variety of group exercise classes including CyclePower and PWX. Jen also trains one-on-one with clients. She brings an infectious enthusiasm, excitement and a positive attitude to all that she does. Jen believes in striving for a healthy balance and is motivated to help her clients meet their fitness and nutritional goals through a balanced approach. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from Waynesburg University and is certified through AFAA for personal training. Brennan Malham
Brennan Personal TrainerBrennan obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology with a double minor in Personal Training and Dietetics from the University of Southern Indiana. He played baseball, football, and basketball throughout high school. He continued his athletic career by playing collegiate baseball for five years, highlighted by being named an All-American shortstop at Lincoln Land Community College. Brennan went on to play professional baseball. He is an extremely hard working and motivated person with an understanding of the determination that is required to take your body to the next level. He believes all individuals have a higher level of athletic performance that can only be achieved through the proper leadership and an exceptionally developed training program. It is his goal to provide athletes with a type of performance training that not only focuses on sport specific strength, power, speed, and quickness, but also on injury prevention and the often overlooked mental aspects of athletic performance. He aims to provide cutting-edge, scientifically proven training techniques that will allow athletes to attain even their most lofty athletic goals and ambitions. Brandan Burgess
Personal Trainer Brandan BurgessBrandan has a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and a minor in Nutrition. He has a strong athletic background and from a young age he played football up through college. He contributes a lot of knowledge from his experience as a Sports Performance Trainer. He believes whether you are an athlete or part of the general population, being healthy should be at the top of everyone’s priorities. No excuses! Being healthy is more than a two week diet and workout plan, it’s a lifestyle. There are countless positives when it comes to living a healthy lifestyle and zero negatives. Lex Bitner

Lex PowerWorks Fitness TrainerLex has been a Certified Personal Trainer since 2006 and holds certifications as a Performance Enhanced Specialist and a Golf Fitness Specialist with NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine). In addition, Lex is certfied by USA Weightlifting as a Level 1 Sports Performance Coach. A long time fitness enthusiast and professional, Lex has a strong foundation in corrective exercise, general fitness, sport performance enhancement and golf fitness. Lex is a certified instructor with TRX Suspension Training System. Lex is experienced with clients of all ages and various fitness levels. In addition, Lex has been coaching girls basketball for 13 years at the College, High School and Junior High levels.  Lex is very passionate about fitness and works to inspire others to achieve health and wellness by making exercise fun and safe.

Brett Clark

Brett PowerWorks Fitness TrainerBrett has had a passion for health and fitness for most of his life. He has participated in several sports, so he knows what it takes to get in shape and stay focused. He believes fitness is for everyone and has helped a wide range of people with personalized and structured fitness programs. He also believes that health and fitness can greatly enhance a persons quality of life. Each person has their own individual highest potential and they should strive to reach that potential with no comparisons attached. As a personal trainer her is a great tool to use in reaching your highest potential through motivation, accountability, fun and unique exercise sessions. He has helped young athletes build strength properly to prevent injury and improve performance, adults who want to maintain good health, people looking to loose weight and seniors who want to improve or maintain quality of life. He is certified through NASM and practices sports medicine to improve many aspects of fitness including core strength, heart health, balance and injury prevention to name a few. He mixes fun and discipline together to create a fitness program that will keep you motivated. Brett plans to pursue his passion for fitness by getting his Bachelors Degree in Fitness Management and Wellness.

Karon Danna

Karon PowerWorks Fitness TrainerKaron has been a trainer for over 20 years. She is certified with NFPT, NASM and ACE as a nutritionist and went to Southern Illinois University and received a Bachelors in Sports Psychology and Physiology. She started her fitness career at the young age of 3 with dance and gymnastics and continued all the way through college. However, she is most proud of raising her two boys who are both strong athletes & competed in football, wrestling, baseball, basketball, & track. It has always been important for her to live a healthy lifestyle and she feels as though she has passed that on to her boys. She trains a wide variety of clients ranging from young athletes to adults and enjoys the variety. 

Mallory Darnell

Mallory PowerWorks Fitness TrainerMallory was born and raised in Springfield, IL. She ran cross country and track in high school. She went to the University of Illinois where she graduated with a Bachelor in Kinesiology. She's certified through NASM and has been training for two and a half years. She enjoys working with clients to determine and reach their goals. What makes her really happy is pushing her clients to do something they thought they couldn't do and seeing their success.

Marsha Funneman

Marsha PowerWorks Fitness TrainerMarsha is a personal trainer certified through International Sports Science Association (ISSA). Playing basketball at both the high school and collegiate levels as well as coaching varsity high school basketball at Auburn High School, she has always has a love for sports and fitness. Within the last 5 years , though, Marsha gained a stronger passion for overall health and fitness after achieving many of her own personal goals to improve her quality of live. She is driven more and more each day to educate and guide other in regards to overall health and endurance based on fitness and nutrition. Marsha believed that keeping mind, body, and soul "fit" is key to fulfilling life. She thoroughly enjoys being a trainer and having the pleasure of helping people of all ages and ability levels reach their full potential. So whether your goal is to make a change in your health and weight or increase strength, speed, and cardiovascular endurance for a specific sport, Marsha is here to help. 

Karen Geninatti

Karen PowerWorks Fitness TrainerKaren has been an ACE Certified Personal trainer for 15 years, but has worked in the fitness field for 25 years. Karen is the owner and operator of Geninatti Gym and Fitness in Carlinville, where she holds overnight Camps, Bootcamp, HIT training, Partner training, climb Training and one on one training.

Karen credits her 12 years as a  Competitive bodybuilder (8 years at the National Level) as the reason she has much success at getting people in the best shape of their life.  I love getting people ready for the stage, as well as taking a beginner and making them realize what they are capable of doing. It makes me so happy when I see a client feel better not only physically, but mentally. Karen feels that Nutritional education is a must, along with proper exercise, and provides that in every session.

Currently Karen is ranked #7 in the world in tower running (racing to the top of tall skyscrapers). This is a ranking that includes 55 countries.

Although she is a trainer, she has always had a trainer herself, as she needs to know what it feels like to “be on the other side”.

Karen is also an ACE Certified Lifestyle and Weight Management consultant, Anti Aging Specialist and Sports Nutrition Consultant.

Tara Jasent

Tara PowerWorks Fitness TrainerTara grew up in Florida. There she was involved in a number of sports. Tara's favorite sports were track and volleyball. Tara was the number one ranking in track for two years. Tara has several certification which include group fitness, cycling, yoga, and step. She is a certified personal trainer through International Sports Science Association or ISSA. Tara has a passion for teaching clients to live an overall healthy lifestyle. She likes to push clients to their physical limits so they can achieve their personal goals. She believed in teaching good nutrition and physical fitness to live a longer and stronger life. Her motto: Take control of your health - take control of your life.

Cody Kother

Cody PowerWorks Fitness TrainerCody started his athletic career during high school soccer where he was selected for the Olympic Development All-American team. During high school, he also participated in the ESP soccer camp which includes the top 150 high school players in the U.S. He attended Bradley University (A Division I School) where he was awarded a full scholarship for soccer and received a Bachelors of Science degree. During his collegiate career he started all 4 years, played in the NCAA tournament, was the all time assist team leader and team captain. After Bradley he entered  the 2005 Major League Soccer (MLS) draft. Cody pursued his soccer career by playing for the Des Moines Menace, a semi-pro team. He was second in overall team points, won a national championship, and made it to the 5th round of the USA Open Cup with the Menace. Cody is certified through NASM and is CPR/AED certified. HE works with individuals of all ages and ability levels, which includes individual training, group classes, and student athletes. Cody is currently continuing his education in the Health and Science field and plays soccer for the Springfield Spirits. 

Nina Lindhorst

Nina PowerWorks Fitness TrainerNina has a degree from Eastern Illinois University in fitness and is certified in yoga, pilates, teaches a wide variety of classes, and works with athletes. She has been in the fitness field for over twelve years including teaching, personal training, and management. She was a varsity athlete at EIU in rugby and played a wide variety of sports in high school. She trains a wide variety of clients. Being a mother of three, one of her favorite group of clients are moms. She believes in giving her clients the best quality for the time they spend working out, so come prepared to work! 

Marci Sepanski

Marci PowerWorks Fitness TrainerMarci is a personal trainer and fitness enthusiast. She believes that exercise is the best way to improve overall health, strength, and mood. Cross training and healthy eating are the cornerstones of her fitness philosophy.

Marci teaches several group exercise classes and works individually with clients. She designs effective and creative exercise programs with an emphasis on improving cardiovascular health, overall strength, and flexibility. She regularly educates her clients, explaining the "why" behind her choice of exercises and philosophies.

She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is certified through The American Council on Exercise in both personal training and group fitness. She is also certified in CPR/AED, yoga, cycling, and USA Weightlifting. She enjoys competing in running, obstacle courses, biathlons, and stair climbs. Josh Waggoner

Personal Trainer Josh WaggonerJosh Waggoner is a Personal Trainer that specializes in helping athletes and individuals in the Springfield, IL area reach their fitness potential. Josh brings several years of experience working with youth, collegiate (Division-I), and professional athletes to the greater Springfield area. Josh previously worked as the Athletic Performance Coordinator, as well as a personal trainer, for PFC. He was responsible for designing and implementing exercise programs for athletes and sport teams in the greater Springfield area. In January 2011, Josh joined the University of Missouri Strength and Conditioning staff as a volunteer intern. He primarily assisted with football, softball, track and field, and volleyball athletic development programs. While at Missouri, he assisted with Blaine Gabbert’s (starting quarterback for the Jacksonville Jaguars) and Aldon Smith’s (starting defensive end for the San Francisco 49ers and 2011Pro Football Writers Association Rookie of the Year) MIZZOU NFL Pro Scouting Day. Prior to working with PFC, Josh worked at the University of Virginia as a Football Strength and Conditioning Graduate Assistant in 2009. At Virginia, he assisted with all aspects of the Cavalier’s football player development program. Josh earned his bachelor’s in exercise Science from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and Level 1 Sport-Performance Coach through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and USA Weightlifting (USAW) respectively.
